It’s Spring! & What Better Time to Replace Your Windows?

    Tamara Jones

    It’s Spring

That’s right fellow Coloradans; it is Spring! Let’s be honest here -this winter was a doozy! Extended lows, freezing temps, ice, and winds -we need, nay, we deserve a break, and what better break than Spring! Or for the outdoor enthusiasts, Mud Season! Sure, skiing may be over, and it’s too muddy for hiking or biking, but it’s the perfect time to focus on your home! Hence, Spring Cleaning and what accompanies home organizing -Home Renovations!

As Five Seasons Windows and Doors, we get the seasons (it’s our thing), and we understand the effects the seasons have on the exterior of our homes. But better yet, we know how to fix some of those issues and suggest when best -like now, in the Spring. Here are a couple of reasons we recommend replacing your windows and doors in April or May.

    Preparing for the Seasons

When a customer wants to replace their windows and doors, it’s often reactive rather than proactive. However, regardless of why you need to upgrade, making the change now will prepare you for the coming harsh seasons. When replacing old windows and doors, ensure a more comfortable environment by keeping the weather where it belongs -outside. So, when it is 95 degrees out, new windows prevent cool air from leaking. Did I mention that this is a plus for your electric bill?

    Short & Sweet

One of our favorite things about Spring (and I’m sure you can agree) are the longer days! Say goodbye to 4 pm darkness and depression, and say hello to fun in the sun! Not only is this good for the mood, but it’s also great for time management. With longer sunny days, you see shorter job projects. Construction can be a dangerous job that relies heavily on sunshine, and now that days are longer, jobs can extend longer; what might have taken four days in the winter can be completed in two. Again, why do we still have Day Light Savings?

    Comfortable Installation

Lastly, and most importantly for some -replacing your windows and doors creates a hole in your home for a fair amount of time. We start by removing the existing window, preparing the space for the installation of the new window, and then fitting the new window. During this time, cold or hot air will escape or enter your home -this is inevitable. However, if you opt for a Spring job, the outside air might be a more welcoming situation, keeping you comfortable throughout the process.

Am I Right, or Am I Right

Let’s get real; there are benefits to home renovations in every season, even the fifth season. But when you have strangers in your home, deadlines that need to be met, unexpected interruptions in your routine, and budgets on the line – having extra comfort, like not feeling too cold or hot, is lovely. So, yes, your wait times can be shorter in the winter, and in the summer, you can spend your tax refunds, but Spring, Spring is comfort, and for us, this can’t be beaten.
